How do Workflows (Automated Tasks) work?
SILQ allows you to set up multiple packs of tasks that can be automated to be added to a matter, creating both efficiency and accountability.
Workflows is a feature that is only available on the Expert Plan.
SILQ's Workflow is a pre-defined pack of tasks (also known as Automated Tasks).
Workflows help eliminate extra admin work by allowing you to automatically designate tasks that happen for each type matter. SILQ even goes so far as to allow you to set up multiple task packs per matter class, to cater for the different nuances in matters of the same type. For example, in the sale of a property there can be variations in whether it is strata-titled, free-hold or off the plan. The same can be said in Estate matters where there may differences based on there being property involved, superannuation, shares etc.
To determine which workflows to establish for your practice, consider which parts of your current process are repetitive. If you find yourself performing the same tasks for each matter of a particular type, it's best to create a workflow. These serve as a checklist for the Fee Earner assigned to the matter, while also providing the firm with an overview of upcoming tasks for each staff member. This enables the determination of workload capacity and facilitates the redistribution of tasks if a staff member becomes unavailable at the last minute.
