Why is SILQ logging me out too frequently?
Some clients seem to get logged out of SILQ sooner than expected. This can be because of your browser settings. Here is how you can fix this.
Most SILQ users want to login once in the morning and remain logged in all day.
Bearing this in mind, we have set SILQ up so that it only logs you out in 1 of three scenarios:
1. Whilst the browser is open, after 8 hours of inactivity.
2. If you have closed all of your SILQ tabs, therefore it seems to SILQ there is no activity and as such it will log you out 20 minutes after the last tab has been closed.
3. If you have the tab still open but you are not using your browser and therefore your browser settings dictate that all browser tabs are put to sleep. SILQ will treat that the same as step 2 in that it will log you out 20 minutes after it was put to sleep.
It is in step 3 that some clients feel this is too frequent.
To mitigate this, you are able to identify to your browsers that SILQ is a website that you would not like to go to sleep. If you edit your browser settings, option 3 above will no longer be applicable to you and you will only be logged out if you meet the criteria for options 1 or 2 above.
