What's new in SILQ? March 2026
Read more about SILQ's latest software release, which includes exciting new features and improved functionality.
This month, we have exclusive releases for Barristers and for Solicitors, plus a selection of feature updates that will benefit both.
Exclusively for Barristers
Instructing Solicitor details
We’ve built a dedicated space on the SILQ platform for you to view information directly related to the instructing Solicitor on your matters. Review documentation, time entries and more.
For both Barristers and Solicitors:
Improved timer management
Timers are now more easily accessible than ever before. Start a timer and get your work underway. The running timer remains visible on the right-hand side of your screen. If you start a new timer, your previous timer will pause. Forgotten timers are now a thing of the past.

Improved document and email generation
Hotly requested, SILQ’s new and improved document and email generation is more reliable and more consistent. Generate multiple documents at once and quickly and easily view the history of any document in SILQ.
Improved document and email previews
In the documents window, enjoy clear previews for .eml (email) files and preview any documents generated on the right-hand side of the 'Generate documents' screen when you hover over a specific file.
Improved document syncing
If you upload, move, delete or update a document in SharePoint or Microsoft OneDrive, this change will now automatically reflect in SILQ.
Matter number sorting
We've fixed the matter number sorting so even when you navigate away or log out, your sorting selection will stick.
Adding fixed fee and sundries via 'quick time entries'
Save yourself time! You can now add your default fixed fee and sundries via the quick time entries window. Previously, this was only possible to enter in each matter via the matter details window.
Database updates
Court field on the matter record extended from 40 characters to 100 characters.
Performance improvements for the matter list so that it should load faster.
Report updates:
- General ledger detail report now displays a "No records found" message instead of simply not showing the report if there is no data for an account.
- Matter Listing report can now be sorted by Matter Class
- Accrual and Cash P&L are now both available in CSV in addition to PDF
Exclusively for Solicitors
✨New feature: An integrated solution for your AML/CTF needs ✨
Client matter details and integrated verification and risk assessment tools support you to work in a compliant manner.
Available to SILQ Solicitor Expand and Expert subscribers, this release will help capture and track client identification documents, all in one place. Plus, experience matter class tracking to help determine if a matter is designated.

Please note: Your practice will need to be set up to use the AML feature and additional fees will apply for KYC processes.
Client Details Window
Even if you won't be conducting AML checks, you can still make the most of SILQ’s new client details window. We’ve built a dedicated space in the SILQ platform for you to view information relating directly to a client, such as documentation or time entries.
