What triggers SILQ to create a matter folder?
SILQ creates a matter folder as soon as a matter is created, as long as the document storage is connected.
At the time you create a matter, SILQ will attempt to create a matter folder there and then. However, in order to keep the matter creation within SILQ as speedy as you would expect, the matter folder creation happens in the background. For that reason, if your Document Storage system (e.g. DropBox, SharePoint or OneDrive) is not connected at the time you create the matter in SILQ, the matter folder will not be created.
In that case, a matter folder will not be created until a particular type of work is done on the matter. At this point, if your Document Storage system is not connected, you will receive an error prompting you to connect it.
Therefore, matter folder creation can also be triggered by:
1. A document is generated
2. An Invoice is created
3. An Infotrack Search is initiated
4. The Matter Folder button is pressed
5. The Load Documents button is pressed
6. When a Safe Custody is created
7. When a Court Form or Precedent is generated
If any of the above actions are taken, you will see a corresponding Matter Folder and Client Folder (depending on your directory save strategy) in your Document Storage System.
