What do the different AML/CTF statuses mean

SILQ supports a number of status when doing a KYC check on a client as part of AML/CTF. Below are an explanation of those status

  • Complete - The KYC check has been done and the contact has been successfully identified

  • Failed - The KYC check was done but the contact was NOT successfully identified

  • Review - The KYC check was completed but it requires review by the practitioner to satisfy themselves that it is valid.

  • Exempt - In the opinion of the practitioner this client is exempt from requiring a KYC check

  • Pending - The KYC check is still in progress and the system is awaiting a response from the person who is being checked.

  • Delayed - The KYC check is incomplete and has taken an extended amount of time and is now marked as delayed

  • Partial - The KYC check has only completed part of the KYC check.

  • Exception - In the opinion of the practitioner the client has an exception that does not require them to have a KYC check

  • Incomplete - This is the default status when a KYC has not been started

  • Pre-Commencement - This can be used for a client that was known to the practice prior to the beginning of the AML/CTF Tranche 2 requirements (July 1st 2026) and as such is not required to have a KYC check.

A user can manually select any of these options as they can potentially do a KYC check either manually or using alternative system to SILQ to do the KYC check.
