Overview of the data migration process to SILQ
In SILQ, data migration involves exporting your practice management data from your old software and importing it into SILQ. We identify what can and cannot be imported and the process involved.
We often get asked whether customers are able to switch from another provider to SILQ - and the answer is yes, you can.
Our dedicated sales & support teams will help you import your information from your old software into SILQ, making the transition as easy as possible.

What are the migration steps?
Step 1: Consultation
You will have a conversation with one of our team members to outline the details of your data migration. This discussion will cover what can be exported from your existing practice management software, any constraints in the exported data, the timelines for data processing, and what to anticipate once the data has been imported into SILQ.
Step 2: Data export
Depending on which software you are migration from, our team can help you to export the data so that it can be processed into a format that can be imported into SILQ. Some practice management systems, however may require you to get an export direct from the provider.
If you export the information yourself, it will eliminate the need for an export appointment and will likely speed up the migration process.
To ensure your data comes into SILQ in a 'clean' manner we suggest going through our Data Migration Housekeeping Checklist before doing the data export. This can prevented significant delays in the data import / data review process.
Step 3: Data processing
Our experts will work with you to convert your data export into a format that can be imported into SILQ. Sometimes this will mean SILQ does the work, other times it may require some of the data processing to come from your end.
Depending on the size and complexity of the data set, the time required to process the data can vary. Your Onboarding Manager will be in regular contact throughout the migration process to keep you updated.
Step 4: Data import
After the data is processed, we will import the data to your SILQ account. Once the import has been completed, you will have three business days to review the data in your account to assess its accuracy and let us know if any corrections need to be made.
If you modify the imported data in your account in the interim, data may be lost if the import needs to be re-done. For this reason we suggest you do not enter any new data until you have thoroughly review and accepted the imported data.
Please note, any issues identified after the 3 days review period may incur fees associated with re-importing the data. Go through our Data Import Review Checklist for a guide on some (not all, as all firms are different) of the ways you can verify your data. Whilst SILQ will do our own reviews, we do not know your data as intimately as you do, therefore it is highly likely that we will not pick up on certain inconsistencies.
