SILQ utilises various matter number strategies to keep your matters in a unified and sequential order. You can choose the type you prefer.
When creating a new matter you can get SILQ to automatically calculate a matter number for you. Think of a matter number as a nickname for the matter name. This is useful for recalling matters that you wish to use often, but don’t wish to have to type in the full name to find.
To enter or amend your matter number strategy click on the settings icon in the top right corner to get to the System Settings window.
Select the Business Setup option on the left, then expand the 'Choose your defaults and which fields are required' options.
You will then see the Matter No. Strategy dropdown.
There are a number of Matter Number strategies to choose from. From the Matter No. Strategy drop down menu, click the one that you prefer.
See below a sample of each Matter Number strategy and an explanation of each type.
