How do you choose/link an account to be set as the default account for a particular transaction?

To automatically & accurately post certain financial transactions within the SILQ system, it is essential for the software to identify and assign the appropriate accounts.

To correctly & automatically record certain financial transactions in SILQ, the software needs to be told which accounts certain transaction types are linked to - i.e. default accounts.

An easy example is that of a Write Off.

All Write off's are posted to the bad debts account. SILQ has this account linked as a default when you first sign up to SILQ.

However, you may want these to go to a different account. To do so, you will need to follow the below steps:

1. Navigate to the top right hand corner and click on the cog/settings icon

2. On the left-hand side, navigate to the Defaults Accounts tab

3. Find the account that you need to link and highlight it

If any accounts are marked as missing, consider this a warning and make sure to address it promptly as it could impact your accounting records.

4. Click on edit and select the account from chart of accounts that you would like to set
