How does the Fee Top Clients report work

This report highlights your top clients over a selected date range, based on the total value of invoices issued — helping you identify key revenue sources and track client contribution.

The Top Clients report allows you to quickly identify your highest-value clients over a selected period, based on the total value of invoices issued. This can help you better understand where your firm’s revenue is coming from and which clients contribute most to your bottom line.

Why Use This Report?

  • Identify key revenue sources: Gain visibility into which clients generate the highest invoiced amounts over a selected period.

  • Support strategic decision-making: Focus marketing, relationship management, and resourcing efforts on your most valuable clients.

  • Monitor client concentration risk: Understand how much of your firm’s revenue is dependent on specific clients or sectors.

Prior to generating the report you are able to customise the way the information is presented to you via the following options:

  1. Date Range - You can choose from any of the following:
    1. Choose a specific date range by selecting a from and to date.
    2. Choose only the 'To Date' and it will give you everything (all time) up until that date.
    3. From the dropdown you can choose pre-defined date ranges such as Current Financial Year or Last Month.
  2. Select Sort Order - You are able to sort by: 

    1. Client Name - Choosing this option will sort by the name of client.

    2. Total - This will sort by the total $ amount of all invoices issued during the period.
  3. Top X - You can choose an option from the drop down menu to display either your top 10, 25, 50 or 100 clients.

Once the report is generated, it will look like the below image (sorted by client name):

Below is an explanation of each column to help interpret the data:

  1. ClientThe client associated with the matter. If you chose to sort by client, these will be listed in alphabetical order.

  2. Invoices - This gives you the number of invoices issued to the above client within that period. 
  3. Fees - The amount of fees invoiced on all invoices issued within the period.
  4. Disbursements - The amount of disbursements invoices on all invoices issued within the period.
  5. Total - The total of all fees & disbursements invoiced to the client during the period. If you chose to sort by this, the clients will be sorted in descending order with the highest $ amount issued at the top.
