How does SILQ login to my screen? - ScreenConnect

SILQ is able to offer remote support via the use of third party software called ScreenConnect

ScreenConnect is a third party software that SILQ utilises to offer our clients remote support, whereby we are given temporary access which you can revoke at any given time to your computer/laptop.

Joining a ScreenConnect session (end users)

Windows

For support or meeting sessions, end users now must download a Zip file and extract the contents before connecting to the session.

1. In your Downloads folder, double-click on ScreenConnect.WindowsClient.zip

This reveals the contents of the Zip file.

2. Extract all the files in ScreenConnect.WindowsClient.zip

Extract all files by double-clicking on the ScreenConnect.Client.exe file. When prompted by Windows, click Extract all.

3. Select a location to extract the files

In most cases, users can click through this prompt by just clicking Extract.

4. Run ScreenConnect.Client.exe

Windows opens a new explorer window in the location where the files were extracted. Double-click on ScreenConnect.Client.exe to connect to your session.

Mac

1. Initiate the download:

In a ScreenConnect session, click the arrow or button to join and select the "Download the App" option. 

2. Locate the downloaded ZIP file:

The file, named ScreenConnect.Client.zip or similar, will be in your browser's downloads or your system's Downloads folder. 

3. Extract the ZIP file: Open the ZIP file from Finder. This will usually automatically extract the contents. 

4. Run the application: Double-click the ScreenConnect_Client.app file. 

5. Allow permissions:

You may be prompted to grant permissions for ScreenConnect to access your screen and other features. Follow the on-screen instructions to enable these. 

6. Connect to the session:

The ScreenConnect application will launch, and you should be connected to the support or meeting session.
