Splitting a time entry is helpful when a single piece of work relates to multiple matters/clients. This allows you to accurately allocate portions of the time to each relevant matter, ensuring proper billing and record-keeping.
There may be times when a single time entry needs to be divided between two or more matters — for example, if you attended a meeting that involved multiple clients/matters or prepared a document that applied to more than one matter.
