How do you create a Pro Bono or Speculative Matter?
Pro Bono and Speculative Matters refer to those matters where you are not charging on time costed basis. To set these up in SILQ, follow the below steps.
In SILQ, the reference to “Pro bono” means the provision of legal services on a free or significantly reduced fee basis, with no expectation of a commercial return.
"Speculative", from the SILQ perspective, is where a Solicitor or firm agrees not to charge a fee unless a case is successful. Commonly referred to as No Win, No Fee.
To create these in SILQ, follow the below steps:
1. Follow the create matter steps
2. Under the Cost Agreement and Rates tab, in the billing method dropdown select either Pro Bono or Speculative
3. Continue with the further create matter steps in point 1.
