How Do I Setup User Budgets?
User Budgets provide the foundation for the Individual Dashboard and allow Fee Earners the opportunity to track their billed hours or amounts against their targets.
Budgets are used to track Fee Earner KPI's, by entering the target hours and $ amounts a FE is required to meet each day/month/year.
The below instructions allow you to set up a budget per user in SILQ and this budget becomes the foundation for the graphs found on the Individual Dashboard.
To access budgets:
1. Click on settings
2. From the left hand menu, scroll down to users
3. Find the user you are wanting to set up for and click on edit
4. Scroll down to and expand the budgets tab
5. Click on new Budget.
To get the most out of your budget, you need to:
1. Choose the start date to be the 1st of July in that financial year
2. Add in the total yearly hours you would like to have set for the user. For example, if your users should have a daily target of 7.5 hours, then a possible calculation would be (7.5 x 5) x 52.
6. SILQ will then automatically divide that amount into the 12 months for the year.
The above calculation will then be divided by the amount of weekdays in that month to show on the Individual Dashboard.
Please note, when doing a budget it is important to decide how you want to account for annual leave, sick leave, public holidays, office closures etc etc. These are not taken into consideration automatically by the dashboard as each state / company policy etc is different.
