How Do I set up Deliverables?
Deliverables are used on invoices to assign time entries to certain outcomes to assist with client transparency.
Deliverables can be used in a range of areas of law to group time entries on an invoice based on certain client outcomes. They are ultimately used to delivery transparency to clients.
Some examples may include:
Litigation: You might group time entries into time in court, time gathering/reviewing certain types of information such as financial documents, preparing chronology documents, file management etc.
Real Estate Development: Time entries may be grouped by the different stages of the development e.g. disclosure, negotiations, dealing with council approval etc.
Family Law: Time spent in court, time preparing financial settlement documents, time assigned to custody etc.
Conveyancing: Before the sale, after the sale, settlement etc
An example of an invoice that uses deliverable is below:
Setup Deliverables
Deliverables are setup on a per matter basis.
1. Once the matter is created, from the matters window, highlight the appropriate matter and click on matter details
2. From the left hand menu click on Deliverables
3. Click on new deliverable and enter the relevant details. You can add as many deliverables as you like.
Using Deliverables
When putting in a time entry either via the new time entry button or when using a timer, you simply need to select the deliverable you want to associate the time entry with.
