How do I manage leads in SILQ?

When creating or editing a matter you can specify what stage the matter is at.

While not every client enquiry proceeds into an active matter, it is crucial for the practice to accurately capture and retain the information gathered during these enquiries. This information will be valuable for future reference if the matter progresses or may serve as a useful record for potential conflict checks later on.

When an enquiry comes through the practice, the process should be to create a matter as you normally would, however in this instance, as it is just an enquiry and not a matter as yet, under the active dropdown you would choose the Prospect option.

You would then add any information as usual including adding the person who has enquired as a contact and attaching them to the matter.

If the enquiry proceeds to a matter, you can then change the Active dropdown to Active.

Should the matter not proceed, you can change the Active dropdown to Not Proceeding.

Please note, even whilst using the prospect or not proceeding options, the enquiry will consume a matter number.

By categorising matters in this way, you are then able to utilise the Active filter in the matters window which will allow you to filter based on whether the matter is a lead, active, closed or not proceeding amongst others.
